Ensure Academic Excellence and Integrity

Carrol ISD’s curriculum has a long history of delivering outstanding student outcomes and I will continue to support initiatives focused on preparing our Dragons to be future leaders.  During this past legislative session, House Bill 1605 was passed, tying a state-approved materials allotment to a new state-written curriculum. As a district, we need to ensure there is a process in place for reviewing the curriculum to confirm it has integrity and aligns with district standards and rigor.

Innovate With Sustainable Fiscal Practices

Currently, CISD is fighting a very important fiscal battle as our district continues to suffer the consequences of Robin Hood and prior district decisions. It will take a two-pronged approach to maximize resources and efficiencies within the district, while also identifying innovative solutions for revenue streams to maintain a balanced budget.

Our teachers’ efforts in the classroom are the cornerstone of student success.  Over time, they’ve had additional responsibilities added to their roles due to state requirements.  As a District,  we must fulfill all state obligations, but also work to prioritize and streamline processes for our teachers so they can focus on what they love most…our Dragons!
